"Want to visit family while out of town? The PadBot lets you be there instantly!"
Price: $1,197.00
Now a PadBot that includes a monitor! The PadBot P1 has upgraded hardware, a built-in screen, speakers, a 720p camera. Additionally, the P1 also includes a downward-facing camera for extra help in navigating more difficult areas. To use this feature you will click the settings menu in the app and press the appropriate button. Download the PadBot app from the Apple or Google Play store, log in, and you are on your way to driving the PadBot P1 telepresence robot around as if you were at the PadBot’s location.
Have you ever wanted to visit your family but wished you could somehow avoid the hassle of traffic?
Wanted to visit your elderly parents more often, or visit your home or your pets while away? The PadBot telepresence robots allow you to do those very things with extreme ease. Drop in on your co-workers, family, friends, or pets instantly!
Worried about difficulty driving? Please, don’t be. Want to go forward? Press the ‘up’ arrow on the screen. Right? Press the ‘right’ button. Easier than stealing candy from a baby (Not that I’ve ever tried that, by the way). The PadBot will even have no trouble driving over changes in flooring such as from carpet to tile and back again, so you can relax and enjoy your time catching up with family or friends, or simply driving around to explore or play with the children or pets on location. The PadBot P1, as noted above, includes a second, downward-facing camera that you can switch to from the main camera for added ease in driving around trickier obstacles. Furthermore, the PadBot has no trouble driving over small cords and changes in flooring such as from tile to carpet.
Easy to use features: Making its use even simpler, the PadBot includes features such as Auto-Answer and Automatic Docking (the latter is under development so may not work perfectly). The PadBot’s Auto-Answer feature (sometimes referred to as “Auto-Activation”) allows you to activate the PadBot remotely; thereby eliminating the need for human intervention at the robot’s location. This is particularly useful if you are hoping to check-in on family members or pets without needing one of them to activate the robot (although, if you have a pet that can activate a robot, please let us know!). The Auto-Answer feature eliminates complications caused by such things as a lack of familiarity with modern technology, limited eyesight, or simply not hearing a call. Just login and find the person you want to see. One of the other more exciting features is the Auto-Docking feature (under development), whereby the PadBot will automatically return to its charger when the battery is low in order to charge itself. Furthermore, with the click of a button you can send the PadBot immediately to its charger whenever you are done with your call.
Another feature, which may be helpful to some, is the ability for people at the location of the PadBot P1 to initiate the video conference by using the touch screen to call the remote user (the person who will be controlling the telepresence robot).
How do you connect with the PadBot P1? Connect to the PadBot using a smartphone or tablet. No PC usage is supported at this time, unfortunately. The PadBot communicates with the remote user through WiFi; which is built-in, but also has the option for you to plug a 4G card into the PadBot. A 4G card may be useful if the robot is in a large location that has multiple wifi access points and you have difficulty maintaining a video call on wifi when the P1 needs to transfer from one wifi router to the next. A 4G card could help eliminate this problem, however, your will need to be sure of your cell providers data usage limits to take advantage of this option. The PadBot P1 and PadBot P2 each support 4G and support the following bands: GSM 850/900/1800/1900.
Which tablets can control the PadBot P1? The PadBot can be controlled only by smart phone (Android or Apple) or tablet at this time. Currently there are no plans to add PC functionality, but we will keep you posted. Both Android and Apple phones can be used. Currently, the PadBot P1 will support the following tablets and phones on iOS systems: iPad, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad mini (1, 2, 3), iPhone 6S Plus, 6S, 6 Plus, 6, 5S, 5C, 5, 4S. The PadBot will support most Android Pads and Phones that support Bluetooth 4.0, Android 4.3 or above. However, the PadBot currently does not support the iPad 2, nor the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.
What is the size of the PadBot P1? The PadBot weighs about 23 lbs. and stands a few inches over 3′ (100 cm), a comfortable height to engage with people who are seated. If they are standing you can tilt the PadBot’s screen up for more comfortable viewing. The PadBot P1’s footprint is closely comparable to that of a humans’, so you will have no worries about excessive bulk clogging up your hallways, offices, or living rooms. As noted in the “Features” section, the included P1 screen is the 10.1″ size.

I can visit my elderly family at any time. Video chat and movements are quite smooth.
