The Swivl robot offers several features which can help create more robust communication. The Swivl provides users the ability to create slideshows which can be shown on the device attached to the Swivl. The user also has the ability to control the robot through the use of a remote control (Swivl uses the term "marker") which, in addition to containing a microphone and having the ability to control operation of the slideshow, can rotate the Swivl's view from side to side for a 360 degree continuous pan as well as tilt the view to a 25 degree maximum. Alternatively, the Swivl features a tracking function, where the robot follows the user, enabling them to have hands free self-recording.

While the Swivl is currently being marketed as a tool for business and classroom presentations, and is capable of creating an exciting stationary telepresence experience. The remote user can have their face displayed on the device's screen and the Swivl can follow the movement of the person on location.  For improved sound the aforementioned marker can be attached to the presenter's clothing and operates as a microphone, allowing for continuous, quality sound even if the local user moves away from the robot. The microphone has a 30 foot range and operates at 2.4Ghz.

The remote user can operate the Swivl using the Swivl Control app, which can be downloaded for free from either the Google Play or Apple stores.

TableTop TeleMe https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/mantarobot-tabletop-teleme/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=mantarobot-tabletop-teleme https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/mantarobot-tabletop-teleme/#respond Thu, 25 Apr 2019 19:36:32 +0000 http://newsite.telepresencerobots.com/?post_type=product&p=3235 Do you want to get telepresence capability for your home or office without the worry of losing the connection during the call?  Or perhaps you are more worried that you may too easily crash into an infant or run over a stray cat?  If you have either of these concerns, the TableTop TeleMe telepresence robot may work well for you!  Just set the TeleMe in an area covered by strong WiFi and you will have no worries.

The MantaroBot TableTop TeleMe can be set on any level surface and used as a stationary telepresence robot. Remote users can log into the TableTop TeleMe robot via the MantaroBot control application and an audio/video-conferencing app such as Skype, FaceTime, Vidyo, or Google Hangouts, and view all of the robot's surroundings as if they were there in person. The base of the robot includes powered speakers and a microphone that connects to the tablet via Bluetooth.

The TableTop TeleMe's view can be controlled by the remote user which provides more efficient and enhanced participation and communication. Remote users are able to log in to the TableTop TeleMe robot via a PC, Mac, or most any other device with a modern web-browser and a network connection. While viewing the remote location the user can control the telepresence robot's view through a downloaded control application that communicates with the TableTop TeleMe through a direct socket, MantaroBot Communications Service (a cloud-based service where an additional fee may be required), or a WebRTC connection. The remote user may choose to use MantaroBot's web-based controller, the MantaroBot TeleGo. Additionally, MantaroBot has a Controller for Android so both Android Phones and Tablets can be used to drive their telepresence robots.

Aside from turning on the robot, the TableTop TeleMe requires no local supervision. Settings in many video-conferencing apps allow remote users to log in directly to the application and start receiving video images, so there does not need to be a person at the robot's location that must log in to Skype. This "auto-response" feature makes viewing something remotely far more convenient for remote users unavailable to travel to a location. Remote users can participate in business meetings, visit or check-in on family members, view distant warehouses, or attend gatherings thousands of miles away.

SelfieBot https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/endurance-selfiebot/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=endurance-selfiebot https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/endurance-selfiebot/#respond Thu, 25 Apr 2019 19:32:02 +0000 http://newsite.telepresencerobots.com/?post_type=product&p=3226 Have you ever wanted to take a video of yourself without the limitations imposed by the length of your arm and the dexterity of your fingers?  The SelfieBot allows you to take videos of yourself without the need to use your hands (aside from pushing a button of course)!

The SelfieBot is a stationary telepresence robot manufactured by Endurance. The SelfieBot screen has the capability of functioning autonomously (hands-free) while still being able to capture video and sound using the camera, microphone, and speakers on the attached device (not included).

The Endurance SelfieBot includes the "Follow Me" feature; a function which enables the robot to follow movement during video calls or video recording. This provides the capability for such things as hands-free watching of movies while cooking, creating a personal video for others without need of a cameraman, and for keeping an eye out on your children if you are in another room.

For business users, the "Follow Me" feature enables businesses to use the SelfieBot as an effective marketing tool by displaying a photo or video advertisement on the device's screen. The SelfieBot will display the advertisement while also tracking the movement of the nearest customer, allowing for the greatest possibility of the screen to be viewed.

The SelfieBot will hold 5-10" smartphones and tablets (not included) and provides for the attachment of cameras such as the GoPro. Presently the SelfieBot does not allow for operation via iOS products but Endurance plans to add this functionality in the very near future.

Kubi https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/kubi/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=kubi https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/kubi/#respond Wed, 03 Apr 2019 16:46:13 +0000 https://telepresencerobots.com/?post_type=product&p=3015 The Kubi telepresence robot comes in two options, the Kubi Classic and the Kubi Plus.  The Kubi Classic holds tablets 8-10" while the Kubi Plus holds tablets 10-13" in size.  The Kubi, while a stationary robot, offers the ability to pan up to 300 degrees and to tilt (up or down) up to 45 degrees.  The Kubi will work with any tablet and any video conferencing platform to make video calls simpler and more engaging in business, telemedicine, and education.  The Kubi has a built-in battery, but most tablets can be plugged into a power source while still on the Kubi.  However, the Kubi does not, currently, have automatic tablet-charging (so, while on the Kubi, your tablet will lose power if not connected to its own power source).

Regardless of the setting, the stationary telepresence of the Kubi makes for a simple remedy for eliminating the need of an onsite person to point a camera around for the remote user. While sacrificing mobility, the Kubi eliminates any potential worries associated with mobile telepresence robots that need assistance due to driving failures or decreased wi-fi signal strength.  Simply plug the Kubi in via USB or AC power and the Kubi can be left alone.

If using Zoom, controls and the video conference are all wrapped in to one app (Zoom does charge a monthly fee in the neigborhood of $15/month).  Otherwise, users will need to have a window for the Kubi control app, and a window for their video conferencing app open.

For business users, the Kubi robot can be placed in a conference room and left to the control of a remote user. The pan features allow that user to see what he wishes and have more personal interaction and engagement with on-site workers during meetings. One of the more unique features is the "Kubi Animate" feature (pending), which allows the user to play a video while simultaneously recording the motion of the Kubi.  After recording is complete, the video and programmed motion can be played back.

For users within the medical field who hope to use the Kubi for telemedicine, it has the capability to integrate with video collaboration and conferencing applications such as Zoom and Vidyo. The Kubi can also integrate with telehealth applications and EMR systems, providing an efficient mode of communication between physicians, nurses, and patients.

For users working in the field of education, the Kubi allows remote students to feel more engaged and participate more in class since they can choose what they look at, and be more easily seen by teachers and classmates.  As noted above, the Kubi can integrate with Zoom, an application for web and video conferencing.

Optional - Kubi Enhanced Audio Kit Upgrade:

Customers may choose to enhance their audio experience during Kubi calls by purchasing the Enhanced Audio Kit.  The Enhanced Audio Kit will help you be heard better in large rooms and group environments.   The Audio Kit includes a stereo directional microphone (which reduces side and background noise), a 2-watt, rechargable speaker, installation hardware and cables for mounting it to the Kubi, and a 5-port (2.4 amp maximum per port), 100-240 VAC USB charger (US type plug).

Installing the Enhanced Audio Kit will require you to disassemble the Kubi robot to install the speaker.  All necessary equipment and instructions are included with the Audio Kit. You can add this upgrade simply by selecting one of the "w/ Audio Kit" options before clicking "Add to Cart."  Alternatively, you can purchase this as a standalone product if you already own one of the Kubi robots.

Kubi Warranty: 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship, beginning at the original date of purchase.  The manufacturer, Xandex, will repair or replace the Kubi robot, at their option, with new or reconditioned parts if the robot is found to be defective during the aforementioned period.  Contact us if you would like more details.

Kubi Returns: If the customer wishes to return the robot within a period of 30 days they can return the unit for a credit minus a 35% re-stocking fee and any necessary charges for any missing parts and/or damage.

Note: The Kubi was created by Revolve Robotics and is now produced by Xandex.
