One of the features which separates the Carl robot from many of the other telepresence robots is that multiple users can log in and take part in the remote presence experience. One person controls the movement of the robot while the others can view (and be viewed) from their own locations.

Currently, Orbis Robotics is preparing to implement integration of biometric sensors (including heart monitors), improved optics for visual observation of patients, and family participation.  This last feature is exclusive to the Carl robot and allows members of a patient's family to participate in the Carl video call while the doctor is using the Carl to remotely visit the patient.

Teleporter https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/orbis-robotics-teleporter/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=orbis-robotics-teleporter https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/orbis-robotics-teleporter/#respond Thu, 25 Apr 2019 21:08:36 +0000 http://newsite.telepresencerobots.com/?post_type=product&p=3372 The Teleporter telepresence robot, from Orbis Robotics, offers WiFi and optional Cellular wireless operation, amplified speakers, and a noise-canceling microphone in addition to its 20" LCD High-Resolution monitor.  The Teleporter also features a laser pointer, an HD camera capable of 240X zoom (20X Optical), and three obstacle avoidance sensors.

One of the unique features of the Teleporter robot is that it offers multi-participants in the video and audio feeds.  While one person controls the robot, up to five additional users can log in and see (and be seen on) the screen.  This provides a very convenient way for multiple remote workers or physicians to easily participate in conferences and discussions or remote factory or hospital tours.

The amplified speakers and noise-cancelling microphone allow for easier and enhanced communication while the large screen of the Teleporter allows the operator to bring up schematics, blueprints, and websites on screen to show people at the robots location.  Additionally, the HD camera allows the user to zoom
in to view and display such things as instruments or parts in great detail.

For safety, the Teleporter has a sonar sensor, an infrared sensor, and a 3D camera which enables the robot to map its surroundings, allowing for very safe operation.

As common amongst telepresence robots, users may communicate with people at the robots location through the speakers and microphones on the tablet or smartphone (not included with the Synergy Swan) that is attached to the robot.  Additionally, the Synergy Swan has face recognition capability and includes a human speech synthesizer as an alternative way to transmit voices.

Remote users may operate the Synergy Swan robot using Android, iOS, Linux, MacOS, or Windows devices. However, at present time only Android devices may be placed on the robot itself.  R.Bot uses its own remote presence software so users do not need to use video conferencing applications such as Skype or Google Hangouts.

Webot https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/wicron-webot/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=wicron-webot https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/wicron-webot/#respond Thu, 25 Apr 2019 20:36:11 +0000 http://newsite.telepresencerobots.com/?post_type=product&p=3312 Wicron Robotics' Webot is a telepresence robot that features a "head" with a built-in monitor that can be controlled by the remote user.  Many remote presence robots that have pre-installed monitors have static "heads," but the controller of the Webot can look up or down as desired; 90 degrees vertically and 300 degrees horizontally.

The Webot also offers a long run-time of up to 12 hours.  Wicron (the creator of the Webot) mentions that some of the advantages that the Webot robot can provide are the ability to provide remote assistance in shopping centers, the ability for supervisors to monitor and interact with employees, the ability for business owners and leaders to save thousands of dollars by participating in meetings remotely, the ability to have more accurate control over merchandise and warehouse setups, the ability for museums to be experienced from afar, and the ability to attract customers through interaction with the robot or even having company names and logos attached to the robot itself.

The Webot, as with all telepresence robots, puts video conferences and remote viewing in your hands, giving you greater control of what you wish to see and when; empowering you to have a greater presence and more enhanced and efficient communication with your peers and coworkers or family, even from across the sea.

FURo-i Home https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/futurerobot-furo-i/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=futurerobot-furo-i https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/futurerobot-furo-i/#respond Thu, 25 Apr 2019 20:24:51 +0000 http://newsite.telepresencerobots.com/?post_type=product&p=3288 Interested in a telepresence robot which allows you to easily visit friends and family or coworkers at the drop of a hat?  How about a telepresence robot which helps provides security for your home?

The FURo-i Smart Home Robot is a telepresence robot for general consumers which enables them to have a remote presence which can be used to visit friends and family instantly, check in on elderly family members or friends, or even just "drop-in" to see how the pets are keeping.  Korean manufacturer, FutureRobot, has created several different applications for the FURo-i. They title these applications as Home View, Family Chat, Family Planner, and Home Control.

Home View: Cruise around your house, business, or the home of your family or friends by using your own smartphone or tablet.  Simply click on arrows that are on the screen to control the robot, tilt its head, and view what you want to see.  Virtually play with your grandchildren, cousins, nephews or nieces, follow pets, or simply explore the remote location.

Family Chat: Ever wished video applications like Skype were more robust?  Have you disliked the static element; being limited to one view unless someone moves the camera around?  This feature, common to all telepresence robots, lets you decide what you want to see and when, and lets you move where you want to move.  Have a friend from off-screen chatting at you?  Turn the robot in the appropriate direction and, if desired, move nearer to better engage in communication.  A businessman on break in his office can log-in to the FURo-i located at his home using his smartphone or tablet, and can drive the robot around to visit his wife and children at any time. No need to set an appointment; you can 'walk' up to members of your family just like you would if you were there in person.

Family Planner: The FURo Planner mode helps you to set up and stick to your daily schedules. You can manage appointments and set up alarms and reminders for the various tasks you need to complete throughout the day.  The application features unique logos for different tasks to help make the experience even more efficient and enjoyable.  You can view an image depicting the FURo Planner feature below.

Home Control: The FURo Auto Home feature is a very unique feature provided by the FURo-i robot. You can use your smartphone to operate household appliances and devices when you are not at home.  Did you run off to work and neglect to turn off the kitchen lights, the CD player or television?  You can securely connect to your FURo-i and manage these devices remotely.  Turn off the lights, turn off the music, turn off the television.  You can can even lower the temperature, check the humidity in your home, and see if doors or windows are open.  Naturally, this feature requires compatible devices.

An additional feature provided by FutureRobot is the FURo-iHOME Security feature. This feature helps to provide additional security for your home by using the FURo-i's Security function while you are asleep or away.  The FURo-i can detect sound and movement and help alert you to possible tresspassers.

Feel free to view the FURo-i videos and images, and the "Specifications" and "Features" sections below for more details.

The Endurance robot comes equipped with an ASUS Nexus tablet and the LinPhone program, an open-source application similar to Skype.

Users simply download the LinPhone program onto their computer, phone, or tablet and they can make calls to the Endurance robot and control it from remote locations. For those unfamiliar with the LinPhone app, it is similar to Skype, as mentioned above, and Google Hangouts, Viber, and other video conferencing applications so there should be very little difficulty in getting things set up.

The included tablet works with WiFi, 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE, enabling the telepresence robot to use any internet connection. Additionally, users may operate the Endurance robot within a local network (a peer-to-peer connection).

The Endurance robot has four sensitive sonar sensors which survey the robots surroundings and will stop the robot upon detection of an obstruction.

Endurance uses a connection which it says is more reliable and stable than a Bluetooth connection. The Endurance robot has a microcontroller for operating the wheel platform which is connected to the robot's tablet via a mini-USB connection with Android Debug Mode.

Additionally, Endurance plans to expand its current list of recommended tablets as well as providing a telepresence robot with a built-in monitor.

Sanbot Elf https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/sanbot-s1/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=sanbot-s1 https://telepresencerobots.com/robots/sanbot-s1/#respond Thu, 25 Apr 2019 19:06:39 +0000 http://newsite.telepresencerobots.com/?post_type=product&p=3217 The Sanbot Elf telepresence robot (formerly known as the Sanbot S1) provides you a physical, remote presence, enabling you to visit family, co-workers, hospital patients, and others instantly and efficiently.  The Sanbot Elf is controlled using an application called Qlink, which can be downloaded to either your smartphone, tablet, or PC.  Business and hospitals can use the Sanbot to project documents such as Excel and PowerPoint files, as well as other documents and videos.  Similarly, the Sanbot Elf can use it's projector and it's 65" image display to broadcast movies.  The Sanbot Elf has built-in subwoofers, touch sensors, and HD touch screen, infrared sensors for autonomous navigation and crash detection, and even a 3D camera in addition to its normal HD camera.

Home users are using Sanbot telepresence robots to visit their family and friends instantly, to eliminate time and expenses and hassles associated with many traveling experiences.

Business users are using telepresence robots to instantly meet with coworkers or to check product placement on sales floors or in warehouses.

Hospital users are using telepresence robots to enable specialists to immediately be on hand for emergencies such as when a person has a stroke.  They also enable clinics to offer a simple way for family members and friends of patients to visit with their loved ones with no worries of germs.  Friends and family simply access the telepresence robot at the hospital, or have a member of the staff drive the robot to the patient's room.

The Sanbot Elf can also be used for customer service.  Visitors to your business or hospital or museum can ask the Sanbot for directions and basic questions.

Auto-Docking:  The Sanbot can be programmed to automatically charge itself once its battery level reaches a particular percentage (i.e. 10%, 20$, etc).  Additionally, you can tell the Sanbot to charge itself using your voice or via the Qlink app.

What do the remote users need?: The Sanbot can be controlled using a PC, smartphone, or tablet.

What else can it do?  It can play a video or programmed presentation using it's screen or it's built-in projector.  Use the Sanbot Elf to display excel and PowerPoint files, videos, and other documents.  The Sanbot can change colors and interact with people using its voice and facial recognition and ability to respond to questions.  The Sanbot can even dance; mind you, you'll not see much of a resemblance with Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers, but the Sanbot gets a big "E" for effort.  Returning to more practical levels, thanks to its adaptability to customization, the Sanbot can be tailored for use in hotel, retail, healthcare, education, and other industries.

For more information on the Sanbot Elf, you can view the Sanbot videos, images, features and specifications, and more on this page or by clicking the links for Sanbot Elf reviews.
